Yamamoto Kamaboko Ltd. has been in the business of making kamaboko fish cakes in Muroto for 70 years. Muroto is blessed by the Pacific Ocean because of its location. Our employees make kamaboko one by one maintaining the traditional hometown flavor.
Our company received a prize for the excellent quality of our Kamaboko Tofu in 2000 from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. We have been developing new products with a taste favored by modern consumers, in addition to our unique and classic flavors.

Oishii Pon from Kochi Muroto
"Fresh tempura of Yamamoto Kamaboko from Muroto directly to your home."
Put a package of tempura (deep fried fish paste) in a microwave oven without opening it. When the package makes a "pon" sound after being microwaved for 40 seconds at 600W, the tempura is ready to be served.
Kamaboko Tofu
Received Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Prize.
The prize was given for the product' soft texture, flavorful fish taste and refined broth.
It is sold at Sunshine Supermarkets and Michi-no-Eki roadside shopping centers along highways in eastern Kochi Prefecture.

Our kamaboko is individually made by experienced employees in a fan shape.
Our kamaboko is individually made by experienced employees, having Kamaboko Tofu, which was awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, first in line with other products. It is company policy to remain a local kamaboko manufacturer and continue to develop new products which suit modern lifestyles and pass on production skills to future generations.
Kujira no Kira-chan (Kira-chan the whale)
This fish paste product, made in the shape of a whale, is also handmade.
The whaling industry used to be very active in Muroto. We designed the shape of the product in response to a request made by Kira Messe Muroto, a Michi-no-Eki roadside shopping center.This whale-shaped kamaboko is used in udon noodle soup and other dishes served at the Shokuyu restaurant in Kira Messe Muroto.
