History

August 1948: Teruo Umebara begins privately owned business
November 1950: Sells first paper making machine to Rumoe City, Hokkaido
February 1953: Installs manufacturing equipment focusing on cylinder-type paper making machines
October 1959: Completes assembly plant for paper making machines
April 1967: Begins research and production of Jet Former in response to increased demand in the paper industry
May 1967: Establishes Umebara Seisakusho Co., Ltd. to expand business
March 1968: Designated as specially encouraged machinery by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and awarded government subsidy
March 1974: Completes new factory, manufactures 150 Jet Formers following development of enhanced production system

Beater (Made of 100% stainless steel)

This machine processes paper mulberry and mitsumata shrub for use in paper making. The bark is dried and the white layer is then separated from the dark layer. The white bark is soaked in water, boiled, washed in running water, bleached and then impure pieces are removed. After processing, it is put in the beater for its fibers to be separated and softened as needed.
